SUMMER MINIS
i wanted to let everyone know what the plan was for summer minis so that you can decide which ones you will want to do ahead of time.
i don’t want to overwhelm everyone by posting a new one each week.. then everyone’s husbands hate me because you sign up for all of them. 
this way.. you can plan accordingly!
6/25 and 6/26
there will be a limited number of spots available for white on white family mini sessions.
they will be 45 minute sessions for up to 5 people.
6/28
will be regular 20 minute sessions for white on white; children only.
this i sa good opportunity to bring your little one in for their summer sport picture..
a solid, clean, white background to make the colors of their team jersey pop. bring in any balls/items related to the sport and we will incorporate them into the image.
this is also when i will pull out my july 4th pettiskirts.
i will have flags on hand and other red/white/blue goodies to decorate the set with quickly.
you will need to provide your own july 4th tank top or shirt with the pettis.
6/30
candy shop set up.
those on my personal FB got to see a sneak peek of the set up from last saturday.
many people really liked it.. so i plan to offer it as a mini session.
i don’t think i will use the same blue background.. i think i will use the silver diamond tuft and let the pom poms, candy and garland be the colorful element.
it will be super cute, with lots of jars full of candy and a LOT of color.
7/1
will be 2 different set ups to choose from.
1 will be the vintage angel series from February that was so popular.
it will be identical to the previous session, so if you loved it.. now is the time to get your littles picture taken with the beautiful wings.
the other set up will be a vintage theme as well,
i have purchased a vintage damask cream/ blue background for this session and will have newsboy caps, ties and other vintage paraphenalia available for the session. suitcases, cameras, etc.
this will be the alternative background for the vintage session. it will go great with the matilda jane clothes, as well as vintage clothing for boys.

again, 2 set ups..
an ice cream shop and a lemonade stand. the backgrounds for these 2 are super whimsical. im really excited about these.
the hopscotch will be the floor for the ice cream cart.
the grass floor will be the floor for the lemonade stand.

summer fun mini,
beach setting, bring your swimsuit or favorite summer outfit for this session. don’t forget the sunglasses!
will have a little pool, umbrella, beach ball, and hula hoop for this session. it will be really fun.. and similar to my season of growth sets.
this will not be the exact set.. but it will be fun and ‘scrapbooked’ like this..
7/19, 7/22, and 7/23 will be reserved for summer fairies.
only those signed up for the series in January are eligible for this set.
8/4
watermelon minis
i have no images to show for this since it will be our first year to do watermelons.. but it will be fun!
8/9 will be a day of minis too.
don’t know what right now.. but holding off to see if any of these have a wait list and i need to repeat a session.
8/11 will be a box series.
if you have been in the studio the last 6 months.. you have seen the giant wooden boxes that has been holding prints ready for pick up…
i have always had a plan for them.. we will finally use them.
we will put together a collage of your littles having crazy fun in the boxes.
it will be true to my fun sessions.. lots of laughs and all kinds of silliness.

The hunt is ON… Senior Reps – 2012
Homeshade is on its annual hunt for senior reps! We are ready for applications from 2012 graduates.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
we are looking for FUN & CREATIVE individuals who have an INVOLVED and OUTGOING presence on YOUR campus. We are looking for students who are interested in acting as a supermodel for a day, willing to try new poses, and bring your own flair and ideas to the session. We also need you to be EXCITED about your session and EXCITED about promoting us to your friends.
WHAT DOES BEING A REP REQUIRE OF YOU?
being a rep for Homeshade will mean that you are available over the summer for 2 sessions. 1 will be a large group session of ALL of my senior reps. we will photograph you guys and girls as a large group strictly for my promotional material. this will not be your individual session, it will be a creative session for Homeshade only. we can assure you.. it WILL be fun! so, be prepared to bring lots of laughter.
then, you will receive your full session. this will act as your senior session with homeshade. it will be when we pull YOUR individuality to the session, use YOUR creative ideas.. and create a session ALL ABOUT YOU!!!!
lastly, you will commit to changing your profile image on facebook once a month to a promo that Homeshade offers for 24 hours.
HOW DO YOU BECOME A REP?
first off, you will have to apply to be a rep by filling out a questionaire that will be at the end of this blog post. it will need to be sent to info@homeshadephotography.com and titled SENIOR 2012 in the subject line.
all senior reps will be required to place a 100.00 deposit. this deposit will be applied to your print order as a credit after your first referral has been booked and paid for. why is there a fee this year? well, the past has shown that there needs to be an incentive for you to get out and promote the homeshade name and bring in the referrals. if you choose not to, then i will have been compensated for my time. This is essentially a job you are applying for.. i pay you for your work. and.. i will appreciate all of your work.
after your senior session, you will receive a small album to carry with you and show to your friend, showcasing some AWESOME images from your session. you will receive referral cards to be passed out, offering an incentive to your referred friends for booking with homeshade.
while participating as a senior rep for homeshade, you will be asked to not have senior pictures taken by any other studios. you are being paid to represent homeshade only.
senior reps are asked to pass out homeshade cards to students/parents at football games, or other after school events.
over the summer, homeshade is willing to open up the studio for you and 4-10 of your friends, or organization (cheer, soccer, football, baseball, ffa, etc) and put together some fun pictures (or even a poster or two) of you and your friends or organization. This is a really easy way to promote our studio to your friends, as well as have a fun evening with your friends. Each attendee to the session will receive a complimentary facebook image from the session, as well as a fun incentive if they book their senior session with homeshade as well.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU???
after your first referral, your initial 100.00 payment is applied back as print credit. THEN, for each referred client you send, you have 2 options. you can receive either a 25.00 visa gift card as a huge THANK YOU for your referral, or you can help your parents out.. and receive 50.00 print credit towards your own senior pictures.
so, for 4 referred clients, you can either get 100.00 in visa gift cards to go shopping with.. or 200.00 in print credit towards having your AWESOME senior pictures in print! this can also be applied to your own ROCKING custom graduation announcements or an AMAZING senior album to display at your graduation party!
one last incentive? your parents be eligible to receive a FREE family session with 10% off any prints purchased from their family session. this is important because this will probably be the last family picture mom will get until you get married.

I am looking for at least {2} senior reps per high school in the Deer Park, Pasadena, LaPorte, Clear Lake, Clear Creek, Friendswood, League City and the Pearland areas.
I will take applications until April 30, 2011. we will then contact those that we will have participate and ask for the deposit mid may and get all of the dates on the calendar.

looking for a few models.. free session.. discounted prints.. read below.
Hello from Las Vegas. As many of you know.. I am currently in LV attending an AWESOME photography workshop. This time.. I am coming home SOOO inspired by an incredible photographer out of Sweden. I initially wasn’t going to attend any of his classes, because I did not shoot like him at ALL. Im known for my contemporary, poppy color look.. he is super duper traditional.
YOU GUYS.. im loving his work. So.. here is what I am proposing…. I need a few models to work with when I return back to Deer Park to put this new look into action as an option. It will be a new baby plan.. and very well may replace the current one.. I may offer 2 different ones.. or I may see no interest and drop it.. but.. I want to try it. So.. I am going to be very specific about what I need: This new baby plan will reach milestones 4 months, 8 months and 12 months. The entire series will be shot on white.. with a lot of white clothing and with some skin showing. SEE.. NOT my regular look. Traditional white on white?? WHAT???? Guys.. it is gorgeous. So clean.. and modern looking in the way that he approaches it. I want to see if I can put my own style into it and implement it. So… here is what I need.
I need a 4 month old baby. Boy or girl. Either will work. mom and dad will need to bring a variety of white tops, men will need a button up, an undershirt tank.. commonly known as a wife beater (isnt that lame?), and a regular hanes undershirt fitted, not loose and with no pocket. Mom will need a fitted white top, a pretty, flattering white shirt with no buttons or color.. can have stitching adornment and then a white ribbed tank or a white camisole tank. For this session, dad will need to be comfortable shirtless for a few images that will be posted on my site/blog. So please.. only those with husbands comfortable with this apply. Mom will be either topless with NOTHING showing, baby will cover any parts.. or possible a tube tops white piece of fabric around the chest if I can not find a mom willing to not wear any top. Again.. nothing will show.. and once you see it.. you will love it. It is so intimate and beautiful.. bonding with your baby.
For the 8 month baby. Again. Dress code remains the same all throughout the series. White tops with denim pants. There will be skin on skin again.. but it is not required for mom to be completely topless in this series. I want to show intimacy with the family in this series as well. For this session.. the child must be sitting unassisted and we are asking you to bring any blankies/lovies that the child carries, their favorite toy and a thumbsucker would totally be the cherry on top for this session. So, please let me know if you have a thumb sucker when you email for the 8 month session. For girls, we also will will do a tutu image of them sitting, and for boys.. we will start incorporating a hat or two into some images. If you have favorites.. please bring them
12 months session. Mom and dad will again bring the same attire. White tops as described in the 4 month session and denim pants.. but.. mom and dad will need to be comfortable topless again. Yes.. this sounds CRAZY. But when I show you how beautiful it is done.. the intimate setting of love it creates within the family… you will love it. At the 12 month session…. It will end in a cake smash.. just as all 12 month sessions currently do. If your child (boy or girl) wears a lot of hats.. BRING THEM. Wear a lot of bows/flowers? BRING THEM. We will incorporate this into a collage so that you can easily get an image of all their favorite hats/bows and put them on 1 collage.. and you have an instant memory of all the cute headpieces your child wore their first year.
For the 12 month sesssion.. I want the family to bring their favorite book that gets read.. whether baby reads it or mommy reads it. Don’t worry about shape of the book.. or condition of it.. it is meant to be a memory of them at this time. If it has elmo on it.. that is okay. It doesn’t have to be that traditional mother goose nursery rhyme book, or the children’s bible story book. Go with what is real. We will also do a tutu image of baby standing if it is a girl.. and for boys.. and oversized 2T white button up shirt will need to be brought for him.. I will supply a tie and a hat for some images.
At the 12 month session, I am encouraging you to bring grandparents for a few shots as well so that grandparents can get in the picture.. especially if this is their first grandchild. This will become a special image.. and hopefullly create a tradition of them having their picture taken with their grandchildren so that as the child becomes an adult… they will always have a special heirloom image of their grandparents.. even after they pass. At the 12 month session.. bring a couple of outfits that you want pictures in as well.. we will do fully clothed images in this session as well. Siblings are welcome at all sessions. We will be doing family sessions through out this baby plan as well as well as just the baby. We are going to see where this leads.. like I said.. I may not see the same interest in this plan.. it will be a little more expensive.. and we may scrap the entire idea.. but I am super duper excited to see.
HOW DO YOU APPLY? Just email me at info@homeshadephotography.com Put BABY PLAN with the age/month of your child in the title bar. They must currently be either 4 months and able to hold their head up for a few seconds, 8 months and able to sit and 12 months, able to stand against a chair or walking. Please send me a picture of you guys and the baby.. needs not be a professional picture.. just a snapshot. I am not choosing the prettiest baby.. or the best looking parents.. I promise.. I just don’t want the babies to look exactly alike.. I want variety in the images. I would love at least one family to be darker skinned. I don’t care what nationality.. just darker skin. One blonde family and one dark haired family.. again.. just for variety.
The session fee will be free.. images will be discounted to 40% off, images only. This does not apply on canvas or press printed cards, or any specialty items. This does apply to the sale of ditital negatives. Only those who can supply all of the clothing suggested and willing to bare a little back/arm skin apply. I really want to show what I want to shoot… you do not have to have a perfect body. I will prefer real moms without that perfect look for these images.. to be able to show that it will be flattering despite showing skin. SO. If you relate to any of the above.. or know someone who would be PERFECT for this session.. please forward this blog post to them. winter fairy set up.
okay, so this one is not a winter fairy.. but it was one of my girl that i loved.. so i thought i would throw it in too.. ha… made ya look at one more pic of my beautiful girl! 
but.. this is the winter fairy set up. as excited as i am about these pictures… i cannot WAIT for the spring fairy and the autumn fairy. they are going to have such beautiful colors.. that i am just giddy about it.
each fairy season will take place in a forest setting, with seasonal appropriate flowers/snow/leaves to portray that season.
older girls will wear tutu’s again.. with the digital wings put in place.
little girls can either wear the tutu’s, or the selection of smaller fairy costumes i have been slowly collecting..
hope you love them.. as much as i do!!
remember.. if you arent interested in the fairies.. stay tuned. later this week.. i will have the season of growth set up as well.. it too will be boring for winter though.. no color.. so you will incorporate color into the clothing.. however.. the spring/summer and fall are going to be awesome. i wish we didnt start in such dreary weather.

fairy and season of growth
hey everyone.. i know there are some who do not Facebook.. ahem.. Laurie… and dont always see everything i post on FB.
just wanted to give everyone a heads up that fairies are now available for booking.. as well as the season of growth series.
winter fairies and SOG are now available for booking. we are beginning with just a Friday and Sunday. if we have a need, we will open monday up as well.
the setup will begin construction on Tuesday.. as soon as the vintage valentines are done. i will post pics of …Chloye in the setup the following day for anyone who is holding out to see what it is….
