urban family session

many of my local blog readers know who this family is.  :)
she is a sweet friend of mine.. and local photographer; glenna harding.  you should check out her site… www.glennahardingphotography.com  she does weddings.  i do not!  LOL
if you request a wedding from me.. you get referred to her.  simple as that.  :)

she and her husband are our worship leaders.  they are great at what they do.  today.. as baby Sam was being remembered, they did a beautiful job regaining their composure and singing songs of worship and praise to our God.  i dont know how they had the strength today.. but they did.  they are very close friends to Eric and Taunie; my friend who lost her baby.  Glenna photographed his birth.

it pains me to think of how many people were affected so deeply by Sam’s passing.  Eric and Taunie; naturally.  their other 2 children.  my friends Marisa and Wade.  Marisa is Taunie’s cousin.  but, they are more like sisters.  Glenna, having been there to witness Sam being born.  Joy, the OB who delivered Sam.  she is a personal friend to many of us in the church.. and cheerfully delivers soo many of Sagemont’s babies.  i stood by her at the graveside today.. wondering how she is doing?  to see a baby she delivered being buried so soon.

anyway.  so.. today was obviously a sad day.  many tears were shed.  we all weeped with the family and will continue to do so for awhile i am sure.  as well as pray.  lots of prayers are needed for them in the coming weeks.

please commit to pray for them…

with a heavy heart.. i will continue to talk about this great family.  if you have read my blog for awhile.. you may remember me lamenting over the fact that i had 2 friends due on Dec. 20 last year.. but both delivered before my due date.. Dec. 15.  well, glenna was one of those friends.  she had her sweet boy on the 2nd or 3rd of Dec.  i dont remember exactly which date.. but i do remember being tired of all of the “can you believe Glenna went before you?”‘s.  then, my friend Crystin who i will blog about soon went before me.. and i waited until AFTER their due dates to have Jax… 7 days overdue.  *sigh*

it was funny.  i was out shopping for our clothing for the family pictures that did not happen for us.. and i ran into glenna shopping.  we both ended up buying our babies the same vest to wear.  it is pretty cute.. dont ya agree?

this is my favorite image simply because the baby has his head thrown back in laughter and i just love it.

the boys are obviously jokesters.

they obviously love each other.  deeply.  i was walking behind glenna today and aric was standing with his back to us as we walked towards him.. and as if he just sensed her.. he reached his hand out to her.  i thought it was so sweet.. how he just knew when she needed him.

they liked my suckers.  once we brought them out.. all of the pictures had them in it.  LOL
it was freeeeeezing the day we shot.. so i lucked out with them bringing her rad red peacoat.  wouldnt ya say?

i know Glenna loves her pictures.  she tells me every chance she gets.  that is a good feeling for me.  so.. i hope you enjoyed their little family as well.

thanks glenna for letting me photograph your clan.  you are all so precious!
it is sweet, tender spirits like yours that remind me that there are truly authentic people left in today’s world.  she is one of the most real, sugary sweet people i know.

  1. ben - I am ready to see the Niscavits Gangsta family session!
  2. Jamie - I've been meaning to tell you how great of a job you did on these pictures. They turned out sooo great and I too have heard Glenna brag on you a ton about them and how great of a photog you are. I agree! I'm still praying for Taunie and everyone affected by little Sam. I also thought of you that day and how hard it must have been for you. Just know that you have all been in my daily prayers!
