Homeshade is on its annual hunt for senior reps!  We are ready for applications from 2012 graduates.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
we are looking for FUN & CREATIVE individuals who have an INVOLVED and OUTGOING presence on YOUR campus.  We are looking for students who are interested in acting as a supermodel for a day, willing to try new poses, and bring your own flair and ideas to the session.  We also need you to be EXCITED about your session and EXCITED about promoting us to your friends.

WHAT DOES BEING A REP REQUIRE OF YOU?
being a rep for Homeshade will mean that you are available over the summer for 2 sessions.  1 will be a large group session of ALL of my senior reps.  we will photograph you guys and girls as a large group strictly for my promotional material.  this will not be your individual session, it will be a creative session for Homeshade only.  we can assure you.. it WILL be fun!  so, be prepared to bring lots of laughter.

then, you will receive your full session.  this will act as your senior session with homeshade.  it will be when we pull YOUR individuality to the session, use YOUR creative ideas.. and create a session ALL ABOUT YOU!!!!

lastly, you will commit to changing your profile image on facebook once a month to a promo that Homeshade offers for 24 hours.

HOW DO YOU BECOME A REP?
first off, you will have to apply to be a rep by filling out a questionaire that will be at the end of this blog post.  it will need to be sent to info@homeshadephotography.com and titled SENIOR 2012 in the subject line.
all senior reps will be required to place a 100.00 deposit.  this deposit will be applied to your print order as a credit after your first referral has been booked and paid for.  why is there a fee this year?  well, the past has shown that there needs to be an incentive for you to get out and promote the homeshade name and bring in the referrals.  if you choose not to, then i will have been compensated for my time.  This is essentially a job you are applying for.. i pay you for your work.  and.. i will appreciate all of your work.

after your senior session, you will receive a small album to carry with you and show to your friend, showcasing some AWESOME images from your session.  you will receive referral cards to be passed out, offering an incentive to your referred friends for booking with homeshade.

while participating as a senior rep for homeshade, you will be asked to not have senior pictures taken by any other studios.  you are being paid to represent homeshade only.

senior reps are asked to pass out homeshade cards to students/parents at football games, or other after school events.

over the summer, homeshade is willing to open up the studio for you and 4-10 of your friends, or organization (cheer, soccer, football, baseball, ffa, etc) and put together some fun pictures (or even a poster or two) of you and your friends or organization.   This is a really easy way to promote our studio to your friends, as well as have a fun evening with your friends.  Each attendee to the session will receive a complimentary facebook image from the session, as well as a fun incentive if they book their senior session with homeshade as well.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU???
after your first referral, your initial 100.00 payment is applied back as print credit.  THEN, for each referred client you send, you have 2 options.  you can receive either a 25.00 visa gift card as a huge THANK YOU for your referral, or you can help your parents out.. and receive 50.00 print credit towards your own senior pictures.

so, for 4 referred clients, you can either get 100.00 in visa gift cards to go shopping with.. or 200.00 in print credit towards having your AWESOME senior pictures in print!  this can also be applied to your own ROCKING custom graduation announcements or an AMAZING senior album to display at your graduation party!

one last incentive?  your parents be eligible to receive a FREE family session with 10% off any prints purchased from their family session.  this is important because this will probably be the last family picture mom will get until you get married.

sounds great, right?

i love shooting seniors.

oop.. that reminds me of something funny that i should share…

July 4th weekend, we spent the day at my step dad’s with one of my brothers.. and all of my step dad’s extended family that came into town.  we had so much fun.. and many, many laughs.   at one point.. all of the ladies were sitting on the porch chatting.. and i made some comment about me being out shooting every evening.  my 9 year old niece, Jenna looked at me and asked.. “so you hunt?”  perplexed by her random question.. i said “no.  no.. i do not hunt. ”  she said.. “oh.. but you shoot?”  *lightbulb goes off* ” i say.. oh.. no.. i do not shoot animals.  i shoot PEOPLE!”  (totally oblivious to how this sounds to a 9 year old.)  her eyes get huge and she cocks her head at me to say “whoa!”  and then i start stammering.. NO.. NO.. I DO NOT SHOOT PEOPLE WITH GUNS.. *laugh hard* i shoot people with my camera.. i photograph them!!!

i still do not think she is convinced that her aunt is not a mass murderer.  HA.  it was pretty stinking hilarious!

so yeah.. i shoot people.
i always did want a shirt that says that.

anyway.. on to the senior session i titled this post about.
i love this girl.  i have known her since she was in the 6th grade.  i used to teach 6th grade sunday school 6 years ago.. and this girl was one of them in that group.. i fell so in love with that entire group of 6th grade girls that year that i moved up with them every year for the entire time we were at sagemont.  i have had her for a couple of youth camps.. and maybe even a Journey house once before she moved on to the church she now attends.

i have honestly looked forward to this year.. there are a group of about 15 girls that i feel my husband and i have invested so many years in getting to know them.. having them at our home for various events, etc.. and i get to watch them all graduate this year.  i do not get to photograph them all… i have to share some of them with my friend Glenna since she too is invested in many of them…. but i am happy that i get to photograph some of them.

meet Emily.  she is precious.  she has done athletics/swimming for years.. but she is giving it all up her senior year to do some amazing opportunities.

this image is fun.. it is a good example of how changing your angle just a little bit changes the entire look of an image.  for all of those new photogs.. dont be afraid to move around when taking your pictures.  the same image can look great from many different angles.

a few reminders:

there are still a few spots for the 3rd round of mini’s i opened with the winter white scenics.  click HERE to find available time slots.

also.. i am offering  the new baby plan for 3/6/12 months.  info for the baby plan can be found HERE.

Memorial high school seniors.  something about you kids.. Jenn and i have laughed soo hard with you guys.  Memorial grows some funny student.  that is a fact.

Ricky’s session was my first time to photograph with a horse.  i learned, i like photographing with horses.  i think every senior that has a horse should book with me so i can photograph you and your horse.. k?

it is so funny that i made him appear so ‘abrasive’ in his photos.. because he is absolutely one of those teddy bear kinda guys that makes you laugh.

this beauty.  she cracked me up.  her mom cracked me up.  we had so much fun.
we unfortunately expelled a lot of sweat.  it was an awfully hot evening.. but despite that.. she was gorgeous.

as many of my long time followers know.. i have a thing for redheads.  ;)

Thanks for choosing me to be your senior photographer!

i have had the opportunity to meet SO many seniors this year.  each of them have so many unique and special things about themselves and i feel blessed to have met them all.. each for a different reason.

this particular senior was so sweet.  she and her mom were up for anything.. and we trekked through the heat to get some fun shots.  she showed up with this FABULOUS orange flower and i was in LOVE.  in case you havent noticed my website colors.. i kinda like the color orange.  ;)

and.. she had this dress that went perfectly with one of the flowers i made for the petti parties.  so, we had to include it as well.

the same week.. i had these friends.  we met at discovery green and it was an especially great day because it was Hali’s 18th birthday on the day that we shot.  how fun, that they shared her bday with me.

she is in HOSA, so we had to get a couple of images in her scrubs.

blue was definitely her color.

she and her bestie did a friend session as well.. so we photographed her at the same time.

the same night.. i met up with a 3rd senior and photographed her after my friend sessions.

yes, i photographed 3 seniors in one night.  i did this often these last couple of months.. and realized that it is HARD to photograph and edit everything in a timely manner when you shoot that much.  LOL

this was actually the very last shot of the night.  i made her go stand in the fountains.  her mom and i were cracking up laughing.

they brought her saddle out for some shots.  they own many horses.

and she really loved this camo jacket.. so we had a to get a few with it as well.

so, there you have it.. 4 beautiful seniors in one post.

i wish you all lots o luck in your future endeavors!
